:rolleyes:Dear Janis Ian fans,
Mary from Peter, Paul, & Mary passed away over the weekend. :( I haven't heard very much about her passing. But a lot of their music was a part of my life for years - just as Janis's music has been. One time my mother had a record (yes a 78 speed vinyl record) playing when I came home from school.
She waited patiently to see if I noticed. At first I didn't pay attention - thought it was just mom listening to one of "her" records. But the lyrics caught in my head......"Puff the magic dragon".....:rolleyes:
That was how I was acquainted with Peter, Paul, & Mary even though I didn't know who they were until I was older and paid attention to such things.
When you are little the music is the thing and not the artist performing it!
So this last part is for Janis if she wishes to reply. Did Mary from Peter Paul & Mary have any influence over your life - especially as a songwriter/performer?
Mary will be greatly missed by the music community and for all the vital issues of her day she made us pay attention to as we go along the stream of life.:)
