Did any of our Rudies, on the other side of the world, get to experience the total solar eclipse yesterday?
I remember one in my lifetime - many, years ago - and it was pretty cool.

Then when I was pregnant with my son, there was a partial solar eclipse one day, when I was living in South Texas. I was 8 months pregnant; working in a bank; and my South Texas/Mexican co-workers would NOT let me outside for lunch during the eclipse! They got my lunch for me 'coz they told me that it was bad luck for a pregnant woman to do that!
I'm not a believer in some of that stuff but hey, it was nice for them to wait on me for lunch that day! :D

We only got 20% and it was cloudy here so no one even noticed. I was watching it on the net though.

We had a total eclipse a few years ago. That was great to experience.

I love total eclipses of the moon better. I like to turn all the lights out and listen to Pink Floyd's Meddle album and watch the moon turn red. :)

I saw Total Eclipse at midday on a bright summer's day with a clear blue sky in southern Hungary in 1999 (I thinkK).... perfect conditions...It was spectacular....

I was suprised tho- I had expected the whole place to go dark but it didn't- just the middle of the sky went black but the edges were still bright so it just dimmed a bit... and summer heat cooled down too for a couple of minutes.

I did remove my protective glasses for a minute or so during the total eclipse where you could see just a halo of pale light around the outline of the moon, but made sure I put them on again when the "diamond ring effect" began.

I was in the main square of the town of Kecskemet- it was full of people, but everyone fell silent when it began...

DAVID - I remember that. We were on vacation on a camping somewhere in the Netherlands and it was a beautiful day. I didn't look at the sun but looked the other way. It was amazing to watch how the colours changed, faded actually, during that eclipse.
