this was TOO cool

I got my dvds and my new cds today! yay!!!! i live with a lot of other family so just throwing it in the dvd player was a risk...one that i wasn't willing to force anyeone to devote their whole evening to, so i decided to listen watch just 2 songs "on the other side" being the first since i miss that song the most since i saw Janis. I put in the dvd and was blown away by Janis' performance, so i went on to choose a second song, i chose at seventeen...whiole i was watgching my nephews (9 months 3 and 4) come out of their bath and into the room i was in. as they we getting dressed their eyes became glued to the tv. I had told them when my package arrived who Janis was and also explained earlier that i had gone to see her in pittsburg. the 3 yr old recognized her logo on the janismania dvd. (cool) not wanting to divert them just yet, after st seventeen was over i went back to on the other side and my sister's and bro in law's (I their mom& dad) became glued too. when the song was over and i was about to remove the dvd. the 4 year old said "Aunt Noel she;s the GREATEST singer!" WOW!!! and the 3 yr old asked for more. alas is was their bed time and i had to turn it off. I told them if they's like to watch again another day just ask. I am one danged proud aunt!

I must say, i'm surprised by the influence i've had on my neices and nephews musically. all 19 of them (soon to be 20) I really don't know how but i have introduced them to Janis, joni mitchell, Van Morrison, bob marley, the beatles, neil young, natalie merchant, johnny cash and others. i've always felt that being the "single " aunt and the crazy aunt, i'd have little to offer since my life is mostly secret. But they've come to know me a the cool aunt, the strange aunt and the aunt who loves them just for them. i guess something snuck thru.
I'm blessed , very blessed.
