Hi David,

And what makes it doubly impressive is that she wrote and recorded it when she was just FOURTEEN!!! Not just wrote it and performed it, but sang it with such delicacy and passion at that young age, too.

How freaky. I just pressed the play button on this song and followed it by coming on the M/B and reading this message.

The connective powers of the Rudiverse are at work tonight:p

The live version of Society's Child is awesome. Guitar levels higher than normal. Did Janis switch them up a notch or two on this track?

the amazing talent and ability to reach deep into the souls of so many that Janis has is astounding. I was listening today and thinking to myself, she could not have experienced ALL of this, yet she feels it as tho she has. danggggggg

David, I was turned on to Society's Child about 5 years ago, and totally dug it. Then I was told it was by the same girl who had sung At Seventeen. My parents have that album and I remember listening to it when I was little. I think Society's Child almost has that "wall of sound" sound that was popular in the 60's. Or I may be way off track with that assessment.

David it STILL blows me away. Even though Catherine failed Higher History this year. (Society's Child is on the Syllabus here) It's the only Song of Janis's that Catherine actually LIKES... :( and that's what started my current interest in Janis's music (again) Janis played it at the Queen's Hall and ...oh wow :)
