A couple of weeks ago I read an article about the 1960's folk/blues singer in Uncut magazine. I had never heard of her before, was slightly impressed, meant to find some of her music and then forgot.

Then last week I stumbled upon some of her music on youtube by accident when searching for something else and was gobsmacked.

I instantly purchased her two albums from Amazon.

I think she was an amazing singer and performer and sadly could have given us a whole lot more had the heroin not taken her first, like so many others.

I highly reccomend her. Her rendition of Just A Little Rain leaves me breathless every time I hear it.

Wow Nina, That was so original! 1960,s folk music with a performer who is so genuine, Wonderful voice and beautiful face, 12 string acoustic guitar, no makeup, and a tooth missing on the bottom. Great! I love this music! Thanks for sharing! It was a great experience! I would love to hear "Just A Little Rain". Anyway thanks for sharing this wonderful performer, Darlene

There are several Karen Dalton web pages out there, a couple of which have downloads, including "Just A Little Rain".

In a word--wow. I can only wonder what she did during the 20+ years between her last recording and her death. And at the same time, I don't think I want to know.

There is, incidentally, another Karen Dalton out there who is still among the living and doesn't resemble "the original" in any way. So if you bring up a web page and find the contents confusing, it's probably a page dedicated to "the wrong one".
