You ARE a true Rudie!
I'm glad you enjoyed it....but I think I can say with surety that I probably enjoyed it more! :-) The moment I walked on stage last night and heard the welcome, I knew it was going to be a great evening. Then, as soon as my set was over, I walked off and told Janis that she was in for a great show. And since last night was the first time she did the sing-a-long (at least during the 4 shows I played with her)...I think that proved it! What a great audience!!

Thanks for your kind words as well. I love the sing-a-long...it's always loads of fun...she did it at the Pittsburg show as well...there were 18 of us at that one ;)
I do hope to see you perfom again....if you play in WV (Mercer County area to be exact), let me know...I'm sure I can recruit a few friends to join me! ;)
Hi Wandering Man Mark!
Welcome to the board. Thanks for wandering in. Now, don't you go wandering off now. :D

Welcome Mark,
You were a great addition to the show on Sunday. That was the first time I saw a Janis show with an opener. It's always only been her. I was very impressed with you and will be stopping by your website very soon.
Keep on playing,
-di

Stay tuned...I'll get to Amsterdam eventually....sooner rather than later I hope. But in the meantime, I'm still basking in the sunshine of what was a fantastic week on stage with Janis.

Good to see you here Mark. Greetings from the nut who brought the poster to the show :) My wife and I enjoyed your music quite a bit and look forward to seeing you again the next time we're down in the area.

Denise...
Nope. I can't play every venue I guess...as much as I'd like to.:) But Janis did ask me to join her for 4 shows. So I was fortunate enough to play some great venues (Rams Head, Kussmaul Theater, Birchmere, and the TFFM show in VA Beach). It seemed to just get better and better with each show.
What I really enjoyed (beside playing for some great audiences) was to sit back and relax every night after my set was over and watch Janis work her magic. It was nice to be able to enjoy the show as a fan and a student. I felt somewhat like one of those lucky athletes who get to compete during the first few days of the Olympics, so they can then chill out and enjoy the rest of the weeks' events and activities without the stress of the competition.
I've posted a few fun pictures from the tour on my website (http://www.markaustinguitar.com/Gallery)(I haven't figured out yet how to post them to this page)

That's just the style and talent of Janis! ;) It's not that she intends to make a fan, she just can't help it! Janis Ian grows on you, and once you've actually seen the depth of her talent, you can't help but be a fan! Welcome Mark, I'm sorry I missed you.

Welcome Wandering Man/Mark. Pleased to meet you. You got to join Janis for four shows! I wish I could have seen one. I saw my Janis Ian show for the year, but I always think the other artists she invites into the show with her are interesting as well (especially since last show I saw was also Tom Paxton and Richie Havens).

So you're the culprit!! I loved the poster. What a marketing genius though...I'm going to get right on the designing of my own Mark Austin bobble head or an action figure with a Kung-fu grip for my next gig! :p

Yes, the Sister Rose bobblehead will be on its way shortly.. It comes with its own set of carjacking tools and a get-out-of-jail free card. And if you order in the next ten minutes, we'll throw in the Hoops bobblehead absolutely free!
Mark, i'd love to take the credit for that poster, but another of the messageboard rabble is responsible for the idea and execution. I Just did the leg work, our lovely Lucille from Australia put that together for us.

Thanks Eva! There seems to be a number of you in here...quite friendly too. I guess I was just never exposed to many pirates growing up in the land-locked state of Idaho. But I'll tell you that there are way too many here in Washington DC...mostly around the White House and Capitol Hill. (hardy har har) ;)
