This was one fabulous weekend!! To start with, if you've never been in Mt Dora, it's a beautiful town that gives the feeling of going back in time, simply breath taking. I urge everyone to check it out. As we walked through the streets, going in and out of the little shops, talking with the various village merchants and customers, (naturally in our Janis garb) and finding out the whole town turned out to welcome her. Every store had a poster in it's front window re: the concert. Everyone was very excited, there was a large banner across the main street with her name and info, it was incredible! I've not seen anything like it since Janismania. I truly wish all of you were there. Quite honestly, we were very proud Rudies.... and then some. The concert was UNBELIEVABLE.... I started writing down the set list and at intermission Greg said I could have the set list so I stopped. In the end, someone had already taken it. Anyway...Janis performed like the MASTER, and Living Legend she is!!! Her interaction with the audience was priceless....with her woven stories in between songs. Everyone sat glued, eyes fixed. As I looked around, I was sucked into a time capsule and taken back through the years....thinking about all the JI concerts I've been to since I was a kid....I've known her just about all my life.. and now the show was starting to close....and here it comes, the encore, "I wish you Joy"... Janis' favorite on the new cd... For me it's the song I love to hate...It's beautifully written..you can't stop singing it, the melody is stuck in your head, and I find a tear running down my cheek...thinking to myself "dear old friend...it is I, that wishes you Joy... till we meet again...thank you."

To All the new RUDIES we met....report for duty....Mona....Bugle Man...
Pat...Colleen...hey there's a bunch out there. Don't be shy, come on board and sign up...
It was wonderful meeting all of you...come and share your story.

HUGS, Kath and Lucille :D :)

What an eloquent review! But I am not at all surprised! So glad you and Lucille had such a great experience. And how neat that the "whole town" turned out!! Never been to Mount Dora but will have to remember to visit next time I am in Fl.

Miss you guys!

Marcia :)

Hi Kath - great summary of the magical night in Mount Dora. Met you outside of the theater after the show. "Bugle Man" that you mentioned is my husband. He says hi, and he'll get on the MB as soon as he has a break in his current job ca-ca he's up to his ears in. Thanks for letting us know about the MB and encouraging us to join! Aunt Becky

Just wanted to thank you for your write-up of the Mount Dora concert. Your enthusiasm is infectious, and brought the evening to life for me. Would love to have been there. But then, I'd like to be in Florida just about ANY time during the wintry months, even if Janis weren't performing. I live in Boston, Mass, despite my lack of temperament for cold weather.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and impressions. Sounds like a wonderful night.

Also, thanks for encouraging Aunt Becky to join the board!

Warm regards from chilly Boston-town...

Miss you too....still recall that it was a bit of an art form trying to hug you without disturbing your "tail".

Those of you who know nothing about this....never mind.
